As far as we’re concerned, this was crossing way over the line, although we’re not really sure what they were trying to accomplish. Their claims against us are false as anyone who reads our blog can clearly see. The bullies did something similar to this with Carroll Bryant by contacting a band with which he had an audition and trying to convince this particular band not to do business with him. It was beyond inappropriate and so is this – contacting Eve’s charity.
Eve is absolutely right. If these bullies didn’t behave this way, we would have nothing to post about them. All we are doing is simply reporting on their behavior and showing our readers the screenshots.
As for our relationship with Eve, there is none. We want to make it clear that she is not affiliated with our site in any way. We simply posted the information about the attack on her when she tried to apologize. We were tipped off about the attack, not by Eve, but by other site visitors who will remain anonymous for their protection (from the bullies.) We sincerely hope that everything works out with Eve’s charity and that the bullies are held accountable for their actions.
This is really scary. I’m hoping that some kind of legal action will eventually be taken with these people, so the rest of us don’t have to live in such absolute fear.
Seriously, someone just needs to sue Goodreads for all of this crap. Then maybe they would do something about these people.
Oh, I’m quite sure if it keeps up they’ll get sued. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet but if it were me? I’d be looking for a lawyer.
The bullies feelings of hate are so strong that they are happy to see a charity go with out funding. How is this helping anyone???
Am I right in saying that the bullies started attacking Eve because they accused her of spamming her book? Is spamming another word for promoting? I understand that Eve may have gone against GR rules by promoting her book in the wrong places, but she has apologized! What more can she do? Is spamming up there with murder now???
So have I got the story right…. The bullies initially came after Eve for spamming on GR, they insulted and bullied Eve because of this. Eve apologized but the bullies wouldn’t forgive the spamming (if this wasn’t so serious it would be laughable!) Then well wishers wrote to Eve and told her about STGRB. Eve is from the UK so she had never heard of the STGRB blog before. Eve seemed to feel revealed to see that STGRB supported her, so she mentioned this on GR. This causes the bullies to completely loose the plot! So they came after Eve again with all guns blazing this time. One bully then threatened to leave a bad review on Eves book and a few hours later this same bully did leave a very nasty one star review. NOW these bullies have contacted the charity that Eve supports, they told the charity that Eve is a bully and the STGRB blog are bullies…….. Well have I got the story right?
I’ll be honest here, I thought that the STGRB blog may have been exaggerating a bit when they reported this story, I thought it might have been a bit one sided. So I followed all of the links provided by STGRB. I read ALL of the comments left on Eves blog & books on GR. I wanted to see the FULL story. But the more I read the worse the story became, STGRB have reported this story completely fairly. STGRB have only showed some of the nasty comments directed at Eve, but there are so many more hateful comments there. Eve hasn’t posted any rude or hateful comments, she continued to apologise throughout the whole attack.
I cannot understand how Goodreads allows this??? What exactly did the bully say to the charity? Something along the lines of “We bullied Eve Thomas & she went else where to look for support, so that makes HER a bully!” I can’t imagine what this person could have said about Eve because Eve has done NOTHING wrong!!! What was the bully hoping to achieve by contacting the charity???
Yep, that pretty much sums it up, Juno. When we report these things, we’re not exaggerating. If anything, we aren’t showing our readers the full extent of the bullies’ viciousness. As for your last question, what do the bullies hope to achieve? Damage, fear, and destruction – destruction of a persons’s reputations and career. Anyone who goes up against these people gets treated the same way. It’s not just authors. That’s why Athena calls them internet terrorists.
Yes Johnny as I said in my comment the STGRB blog reported this story completely honestly & fairly. Just to be sure I went onto Goodreads and I read every single comment. I couldn’t find ONE nasty comment from Eve. All I saw was a bunch of bullies attacking Eve.
Eventually Eve said she had had enough, she said that she wouldn’t be commenting any more. Then one of the bullies wrote a big long post, this bully pretended to be nice, pretended to reach out to Eve. But as far as I’m concerned it was just bait, she was trying to draw Eve back into the attack. Horrible nasty bullies!
I hope Eve is ok, she has come across as a wonderful person throughout all of this. Eve told us that she has lived with abuse in the past, I am sickened that these bullies have put her through more abuse. I’m glad Eve has taken legal action, it is the only way.

This is a tactic that Jane Litte and the DA crowd have used more than once when going after an author or publishers. (Publishers are not exempt from bullying at DA, especially small start up e-presses. They make the tastiest dinners.) Yes, according to them, spamming is up there with murder. It’s also a clever bully tactic to get people on their side because everyone hates spamming. They know this and zoom in for the kill, therefore arousing a riot crowd on the comment thread to burn the spammers at the stake. They receive power, and more hits than they ever dreamed of getting with the fake publishing posts Jane is writing these days to remain under the radar.
Wow a real all time low! I’ve been following this with interest and note that coaxial is still not giving up! This is typical stalking behaviour not to mention bullying. I can just imagine this group of nasty witches all plotting together, do they not have lives?????
I’m glad that there has been no harm done and I hope Eve and the charities now go after this bunch of trolls, I personally will be applauding and screaming if they do because this has to stop.
Lets not forget the ownership of Goodreads here, they are turning a blind eye when rules have been openly broken, they are turning a blind eye to the fact that this wonderfully, talented author, and no I’m not just saying that, read her books and you will see for yourself.
I had never come across STGRB before this but boy am I glad I did, you are just proving yourselves right and let’s face it if they weren’t doing this you would have nothing to blog about.

Coaxial is sooooo in denial!!! Is this woman for real????? She’s now claiming to be innocent in all this when in fact she is the bloody ringleader and has been the one along with Jones who have threatened, used foul language etc. she really is a bloody joke!
Coaxial is a perfect example of the personality of these people in that they they just don’t give up. They are like dogs with bones. I really think many of these people are mentally unstable and should be treated as such. Too bad, along the way they have hurt so many people just for kicks they get out of being vicious.
Well I am just so relieved that Eve is ok and the charities are not taking this lying down. Do these nasty trolls not realise that perhaps Eve was checked out very thoroughly before they accepted to work with her???? Their intelligence really does dumbfound me.

These people are vile beyond words. It’s ludicrous to pretend that this is about “butthurt authors” having a meltdown because somebody online didn’t enjoy their books, when the “reviewers” are trying to make trouble for the author in real life by trying to convince other people not to do business with the author.
There are moments when I think that these pests should be blown off, shunned, ignored — because it’s just too easy to step over one of their little lines, break one of their rules, and end up on their bad side, and once you get on their bad side, you **stay** on their bad side, and no amount of apologizing or asking “What did I do wrong?” or offering to make amends will make things better. But then there are other moments, like now, when I think that they need to pay a price for the things they do.
Right now I would stand up and cheer if I heard that one of them was arrested. Hell, news that one of them got a visit from a police officer would put a smile on my face.
This has extended beyond bullying into harrassment. It’s time to involve the police and/or the FBI.

I don’t like this! What are goodreads actually doing? Why is this being allowed to continue? Have you all noticed how poor Eve’s books, especially the one for charity have gone down in the rankings? Both had 5 star ratings and I’ve just read Eve’s blog on her website she must be completely devastated and I hope she doesn’t decide to stop her good work because of these cretins.
Ok its blatantly apparent that Eve doesn’t know the first thing about goodreads and their policies etc and she actually says that she more or less jumped in feet first in her excitement, gee give her a break!
Let’s look at the facts. Yes, Eve did post a lot in different groups and when approached about this she immediately apologised, look at some of her later posts where she says she is hoping she has posted in the correct category, look at the way some very kind members guided her, educated her. Can the bullies not read? I think the bullies just decided to ignore this and carry on their witch hunt of poor Eve.
Now I for one had never come across this site before but because the bullies have continued in the “chase” it has been highlighted again and again and let’s face it the bullies are defo proving that all that STGRB say about them is correct.
I think it takes a very, very bitter woman to contact a charity that is struggling for donations and try to take that away. This is a new low as others have said and I am disgusted with this bunch of women as well as goodreads and I hope Eve pursues this totally, she has nothing to say sorry for and I wish she would stop apologising to this group of bullies. Eve is correct when she says she feels like a victim again, she is a victim and I hope that she gets to the bottom of all this and those responsible especially the woman who contacted the charities. IP addresses are easily got and I am sure the authorities would be very interested in this as well as the media.

Do you know what I honestly think, I think that the bullies started out their usual campaign of bitterness then as it unfolded they all realised that perhaps Eve had made a genuine mistake in posting about her good work but are now to ashamed to stand up and say they have unfairly treated her because they have realised that Eve IS doing good work and so they twist in the knife further because they are EMBARRASSED about THEIR ACTIONS!

I too didn’t know about this site. I saw what was going on at goodreads and have been following it and I too will say that if the bullies left Eve alone then STGRB wouldn’t be having the hits it is and that it seems that STGRB are so right in what they are saying about these witches.
I hope that Eve is taking action I really can’t get my head around why someone would want to take donations away from a charity a woman as well disgusting, very disgusting.
Now I have watched and I agree with every comment on here and I hope that the woman and I use that term very reluctantly who contacted the charity is named and shamed both here on goodreads and in the media this really has to stop.

Disgusting! I too have been following this after I saw coaxial and jones launch a very nasty and personal attack on Eve Thomas. I’ve looked at every post and comment and notice that Eve has always conducted herself in a very professional and ladylike manner despite being called some horrible things like hippy, child abuser etc. what I find totally unbelievable is how Goodreads are allowing this to continue.
I notice someone has said we should contact the media I would do this to show my support of this wonderful lady and also STGRB and if someone wants to let me know how to do this I will. I think that this whole bullying has gone way too far and I too will be screaming and clapping when the witch who contacted the charities is named and shamed.

Um,, hesitant again here. What would happen if someon sent, through the post and anonymously, printouts of some posts on Goodreads, (eg. The attacks on Eve, the so-called ‘deleted’ sexual role play groups etc, ) to the major advertisers on Goodreads? I doubt that Argos etc really know what is going on there and may well be appalled to be linked with such unpleasantries. Just a thought.
And I would also like to say that I too have downloaded Eve’s books, Choices-The Darker Years is such a moving story and I can see now why Eve is donating proceeds from this to charity. Ignore the bullies Eve and well done on your helping hearts you are an inspiration I just hope you have enough strength to see this through, remember your motto Survivors not victims.
I want to let Eve know that I fully support her. I’ve have seen everything that has happened to her and I am both shocked and upset. Eve has repeatedly apologized, but the GR gang don’t want an apology they want a fight. When the bullies were told that Eve has apologized repeatedly they said the Eve had given the wrong sort apology!!! Huh??? They keep twisting Eve’s words, they want to keep this attack going. Eve has done the right thing by not replying to the bullies. Ignoring them is the only way, they hate been ignored!
They started attacking Eve because of the spamming. Then the attacked her because she posted a link to STGRB. They accused STGRB of stalking and threatening women, although they never show any proof of this! Now one of the bullies has threaten Eve by saying “They know who she is and where she is!” That is a threat that the police are taking extremely seriously due to Eve’s past. Another bully contacted the charity that Eve supports and tried to cause trouble for Eve. Not only are these bullies TOTAL HYPOCRITES but they are also very dangerous.
People on here have showed amazing support for Eve. If your reading this Eve I want you to know that you have my full support. I am sending you best wishes and I really hope that you are ok? I am glad to hear that you have handed all comments, private messages and e-mails over to the authorities. Try not to worry Eve, the police will get to the bottom of this. Stay strong. XXX

I hope Eve gets justice and I will name and shame the person who made the threats, Mrs Jones as I said I’ve followed this with interest and I was shocked when Jones threatened Eve and said she knew who she was and where she was. These women really do share brain cells it seems.

Her comment talking about doxxing is hilarious as she outed someone’s private information on Amazon just recently. It was one of our site visitors information and I’m pretty sure she got a screenshot before Anna/Zahara deleted it.

I keep coming back to this just because I’m so concerned for both Eve and her work. I hope she is ok. I notice her representatives are saying she is not in good physical health, maybe the bullies should have found out a little more about their victim before they attacked her. I too have now been following this and I feel really sorry for Eve. How do these women sleep at night after tearing to shreds not only a fellow woman but a survivor of DV. I hope Eve’s books smash the literary world and show these mean girls for what they are, bullies. I have been through STGRB and trawled the Internet and I cannot find one piece of information to back their claims up, it took me exactly two seconds to find that STGRB is a very truthful site who is merely highlighting the problems that are happening.
I’m glad I found this site and I will be making sure that all my friends on Goodreads know about it. It’s shameful what these women have done and yes I agree very hypocritical. Jones was the one screaming from the rooftops that STGRB is bad then she makes the comment I know you and know where you are! Very disturbing and I am glad that Eve has reported this to the authorities. I also notice that a couple of reviews have been removed, good on you Goodreads but really you should look at how Eve’s books were rated before this started and rank them accordingly. I hope everyone buys Eve’s books now and hopefully the rankings will start to creep back up. What were five star books with excellent reviews are now trashed and it saddens me to see Choices-The Darker Years with a one star especially as its for charity.

I also would like to say that I have looked to see if Goodreads have an age limit, answer no so surely Goodreads should be acting pronto when foul language is used if minors are permitted to join. It seems that Goodreads just don’t care and allow shelves and posts containing foul language. Wrong very wrong and again something that needs drawing attention to.

So now the bullies are willing to hurt people in need if they get to hurt their current target in the process? It’s beyond disgusting.
I often wonder if these people truly grasp the severity of this behavior. Internet bullying has more than once driven someone to suicide. Is that what they want? To know that they played a part in pushing someone to take their life? Would they even feel any level of remorse knowing that they were participants in the destruction of a person’s self-worth? Or would they celebrate their new found power? The Society for Suicide Prevention has seen multiple incidences of this. And it’s not just teenagers, adults too. Everyone has feelings. I just can’t imagine the type of evil infecting these people driving them to behave in this manner. Do they truly think they will be able to elude accountability forever? Have they thought about the affect to their own lives and families when they get caught? Sometimes it takes years, but eventually these kinds of things catch up to people. And granted they may not go to jail for their behavior but having your actions revealed to their loved ones and community can be far more humiliating. Especially if they are taking to civil court and sued for damages. Stories like this are becoming hot topics. If a lawsuit is brought against one of them there will be no way for them to hide what they’ve done.
I note that a new member popped up on Eve’s blog Mahala and she threatened Eve with a loaded 38 gun. These people just don’t think!
Yep, we got screenshots of that thanks to a couple site visitors. I’ve been meaning to post all the screenshots we have of the deleted comments, but haven’t gotten the time yet. Hopefully this evening I will be able to get to it.
Oh, come off it. Everyone knows that threatening an author with a gun is just part of a book review and that reviewers have the right to say anything they want in a review, and any author who complains is just butthurt and needs to grow the hell up because people have the right to their opinions.
